Red Sky Performance Seeks Female Actor/Dancer

AUDITION NOTICE

Red Sky Performance will hold auditions for its theatre dance production for young audiences – “Raven Stole the Sun”, written by acclaimed Canadian author Drew Hayden Taylor. Performances will be in Toronto, throughout central and northern Ontario, in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and various other locations from October 5 through late November, 2009 and mid-January through late May, 2010. Red Sky will be casting one female actor / dancer for the length of these tours.

CBT Play Creation Unit

The CBT Play Creation Unit is a novice play creation program. It introduces participants to various approaches to making theatre. Through regular workshops and sessions with professional theatre artists, we help participants identify, cultivate and explore their creative voice. Each member will create a 10-15 minute piece of theatre that will be presented in CBT’s annual showcase of new work Tales from the Flipside at the end of February 2010.

The Canadian Stage Company seeks acoustic musical performers for 20 minute opening sets at the Canadian Stage TD Dream in High Park on Sunday nights throughout the summer. Acts may be any musical performers with no power needs, and virtually no set up time. Youth performers, choirs and non-traditional acoustic performers are especially welcomed.

The Vespera Ensemble of Toronto is an auditioned group of exceptional singers dedicated to performing new music.
Along with their classical focus, Vespera embraces popular genres of music from the 20th century, including jazz, gospel and beyond. We are very fortunate to have a unique blend of excellent singers, both choral and soloists of many styles.

After three successful seasons Vespera has shown it’s continued commitment to performing new works, especially those by Canadian composers. In spring 09 Vespera presented an concert of all Canadian works. As a result of it’s success, we will dedicate each spring concert to works by Canadian composers.

Rehearsals – Wednesdays 7:30-9:45 Location: TBA

Music Director: Sarah John M.Mus, B.Mus.
A native of British Columbia, Sarah completed both her M.Mus in Performance (Conducting) and B.Mus at the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Previous appointments prior to forming Vespera have been: Assistant Conductor of the Windsor Symphony, Chorus Master-Windsor Symphony Chorus, Powell River Girl’s Choir and Co-Founder and Conductor of the Echo Women’s Choir of Toronto.

Bloorcourt Graffiti Mural Program

The Graffiti Mural program is a two month visual arts program for young artists aged 15-21. All applicants must be able to commit 8-10 hrs a week (including Saturdays from 10am-4pm). Successful applicants will collaborate with emerging graffiti and visual artists on murals in the Bloorcourt Neighborhood, build and expand thier skills in aerosol and latex painting, participate in a short graffiti film / documentary, and possibly showcase thier work publically.

Requirements
-background in the visual / graffiti arts
-be able to work well with other artists (give and take feedback well)

-Applications must be filled out and submitted by July the 14th.
