What to prepare:
Dancers: Prepare a three-minute dance excerpt and expect to perform a two-minute improvisation.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and over.
Applicants must have at least two years experience in professional contemporary dance.
Ability to sing is an asset.
Able to tour within Canada and overseas.

What to bring:
You must bring a copy of your CV and an artist headshot or photo to the audition.

Dancers and actors who are not able to audition in person may submit a five- to eight-minute video (DVD or CD) and an artist photo, in addition to a resume outlining their performance history.

LEARNING INTERN

Reporting to the Manager, Adult Learning, the Learning Intern position is an opportunity for a person interested in Film and Education to gain further knowledge about these fields and to put into practice skills that they have learned in these areas. We are interested in people who have a specific interest in Arts Administration.

Responsibilities include:
● Provide support to Manager, Adult Learning, in administrative duties, including: booking, scheduling, minute taking, faxing, mailing, filing; updating TIFF database, creating excel spreadsheets for speakers, potential lecturers, films
● Assist with academic outreach (Film School Consortium, colleges and universities, student clubs/associations) and research
-Develop a list of contact people for film/media programmes and clubs at colleges and universities in Ontario
-Draft and send out correspondence
-Create event listings for newsletters and online bulletin boards
● Attend weekly Learning meetings
● Update and add to existing contacts for elementary and high school Teacher associations in Ontario
● Research titles and manage spreadsheet for John VanDuzer Children’s Film Collection
-Add films to existing excel spreadsheet of films for consideration for the film collection that TIFF houses

Skills required
● 1-2 years experience in Film, Education, and/or arts administration is an asset

Who: Artsmartz is a children’s art camp that focuses on fun and creativity! The program is run through Neilson Park Creative Centre (NPCC), a not for profit creative arts facility located in Etobicoke.

Volunteers will work with children ages 5-12 and assist the Artsmartz staff in craft and classroom activities. Being at Artsmartz is a fun and rewarding way to gain valuable experience working with children!

Fly By Night will be holding auditions for it’s June production of DOG SEES GOD by Bert V.Royal.
The production is an “unauthorized parody” of the popular Peanuts Gang and will show at the
Nathan Cohen Theatre at the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre from June 16th to the 19th.

“When CB’s dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. His best friend
is too burnt out to provide any coherent speculation; his sister has gone goth; his ex-girlfriend
has been institutionalized; and his other friends are too inebrieted to give any sort of solace.
Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebeliion, and sexual identity collide and
careen towards an ending that’s both haunting and helpful.”

FBN is looking to cast 4M, 4W non-union actors between the ages of 18-25 with a playing range of 15-18 for the

CB – The show’s protagonist, on a quest to answer an existential question. Confused, insecure, and emotional.

VAN – CB’s stoner best friend and group philospher.
VAN’s SISTER – CB’s former girlfriend and pseudo-psychiatrist; currently a pyromaniac and a danger to society.
BEETHOVEN – Social outcast and victim of bullying; finds solace in his music.
MATT – Alpha-male, sex-obsessed, and a pathological neat-freak.
TRICIA – One half of the school’s Plastics clique
MARCY – The other, smarter half of the school’s Plastics Clique

Please note that DOG SEES GOD contains mature subject matter and Fly By Night is looking for actors who are comfortable with such.
